JOHNSTOWN, Pa. – (WJAC) Johnstown police are investigating the shooting death of one man and wounding of another person at a bar in the Cambria City section of the city.

Law enforcement officials said the shooting happened in the early hours of Saturday, at the Liquid Currency bar. They tell 6 News the person who fired the shots is not in custody.

Cambria County Coroner Jeff Lees said one man, in his early 20s died at the location.

Police tape and heavy police presence blocked off Second Avenue between Chestnut Street and Brallier Place. A large, emotional crowd had gathered, some telling 6 News they were family members of the man killed.

District Attorney Greg Neugebauer said investigators believe it was a single person who fired the shots and fled from the bar. He said they are working on identifying the person.

When 6 News crews arrived at 5 a.m., the body of the man was still lying on Second Avenue, the street cluttered with evidence markers. Police officers from Upper Yoder, West Hills, Richland and Nanty Glo were on location to protect the crime scene.

Lees said an autopsy will be scheduled to continue the investigation.

The condition of the second person wounded in the gunfire is not known.

As daylight broke, one man walked down Chestnut Street, repeatedly yelling "My brother is dead."

In March of 2022, one person was shot on the sidewalk in front of Liquid Currency.
